The Developmental Choir is for children ages 6-8. Here, they are introduced to the elements of music, melody, harmony and rhythm, and to the disciplines of performance and stage presence.

They are taught the importance of hard work, but the emphasis is on fun and feeling the spirit of the music. While the music is kept uncomplicated, the repertoire is made of songs with more depth then you might find in traditional children's choirs. Even at this young age, each child is trained to perform solo and sing lead. In rehearsals, children get individual attention and help in developing their unique voice, and learn to blend into the single voice of the choir. They are taught elementary music theory, and have weekly training in movement and dance. Monthly workshops are held in the various elements of musical performance.

Repertoire:

Burt Bacharach, Louis Armstrong, modern Senegalese Pop, Johnny Nash, William Butler Yeates, Irving Berlin, Leslie Bricusse, Theresa Jennings, Paul Williams and more.

Rehearsals:

Monday 16:00 - 17:00
Wednesday 16:00 - 17:30
